Xcelerate Employment Solutions provides Return to Work Vocational Rehabilitation for clients of all major CTP insurers. We are a specialist Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) service with staff with specialised knowledge and experience in delivering programs which:

  

  • are innovative
  • provide compensatory strategies
  • take account of the uniqueness of each client's ABI

  

We have 7 offices across Sydney as well as outreach in Wollongong, Liverpool, Blacktown, Gosford and Newcastle. We also provide a vocational rehabilitation service for Queensland claims and are based in Fortitude Valley.

  

Our Model of Service Delivery

We have staff with specialist training and experience in psychology, rehabilitation counselling, social work, employment consultancy, marketing and clinical nursing, which enables us to provide a professional service that is outcome focused. Testimony to our success is the fact that we have continued to maintain government contracts based on our proven track record of job placement.

Our model is based on a 4-phase approach:

  

Assessment-Workshops-Case Management-Post-Placement Support

  

1. The Assessment:

Each client is assessed and his/her background and specific needs and goals are determined. Included in the assessment phase is a comprehensive intervention plan outlining the specific needs requirements of the client, employability skills and recommended interventions that are necessary for the client to return to work. The assessment identifies current barriers affecting return to work, transferable skills and suitable vocational goals. The assessment involves a detailed interview and the administration of a suite of assessment tools and psychometric tests. If, following initial assessment, the jobseeker is considered ready to commence the job placement program, s/he will be transferred to our team of employment consultants and reverse marketers. If, following initial assessment, the jobseeker needs further assistance to become job ready, s/he will commence a 3 month case management phase.

  

The Return to Work Plan will identify vocational goals, transferable skills, aptitude and interests, literacy skills, medical recommendations, labor market analysis, job seeking skills assessment, worker’s strengths and barriers to the return to work.

 

2. The Workshops:

We offer a range of pre-employment programs that can be tailored to the individual needs of the client. The pre-employment programs are intensive, structured and outcomes focused and have been evaluated from testing in the field. Our Programs address the barriers that stop individuals from participating in the economic life of the community. They are specifically designed to target the maladaptive thoughts, emotions and behaviors that hold these barriers in place. Most barriers to employment are determined by a person’s unhelpful ways of thinking. By helping jobseekers to understand the presenting problem, its causes and effects and by teaching skills and strategies to overcome unhelpful thoughts, emotions and behaviors,

  

3.  Case Management  

Case management involves an intensive period of intervention featuring up to 6 sessions of solution focused brief therapy designed to illicit change in ambivalent clients, as well as up to 20 sessions of intensive employment assistance with a dedicated mobile industry consultant to place the client in work.

Xcelerate Employment Solutions will utilise its recruitment expertise to market and promote its clients into stable employment opportunities. We have access to a broad range of employers who are sympathetic to employing jobseekers with disabilities or barriers. We also use quirky marketing approaches to individually market our jobseekers.

  

4. Flyers  

We promote our job seekers using tailored and innovative marketing strategies. One of the most effective methods we have found is the use of individualised promotional flyers. We design a flyer promoting the individual qualities of a particular client and his/her abilities, interests and experience and mail these to identified prospective employers. We have found this unconventional method highly effective in terms of obtaining employment for our clients. Guerrilla marketing techniques have been employed to create a 'buzz' and harness demand for the skills of our clients.  

  

5. The Support:

A feature of our program is the PLACE-TRAIN model of supported employment. We fast track the client into employment and then provide on-the-job training and job coaching to ensure that the client understands the demands of the job, knows how to do it and knows who to turn to if there are any diffiuclties. We identify a job buddy in the work place and provide training to the job buddy.
